Obituary for SAVAGE

Paul W. Savage, passed from this life to his eternal home on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at the age of 85, after a life of significant joy and service to others. Born May 19, 1918, in Caddo County, Oklahoma to Hulett and Mae Savage he married Ruth Elizabeth Hanks on September 1, 1940 and their life together was blessed by a son and a daughter. Ordained by the Assemblies of God in 1941, he pastured churches in Roswell and Clovis, New Mexico and Seminole, Oklahoma. In 1968 his ministry led him to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he faithfully and joyfully served the congregation of Highland Assembly of God for 13 years. In 1981 he was elected to serve as the Superintendent of the New Mexico District Council of the Assemblies of God in which capacity he served until his retirement in 1993. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; son, David Savage of Lubbock, Texas, daughter, Beverly Wall of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Betty Savage of Wichita Falls, Texas; sister-in-law, Esther Savage of Albuquerque; brother-in-law, Paul Joyner; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister. The family will greet friends on Thursday, October 9, 2003 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE. Services will be held Friday, October 10, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Azusa Street Assembly of God Church located at 201 Valencia NE with the Reverend Ken George, Reverend David Savage and Reverend Mike Wall officiating.
