Obituary for MOYNIHAN

Terrance Leo Moynihan passed away September 27, 2003 at the age of 81. Terry was born in Newton, KS on April 11, 1922. He proudly served his country in WWII and the Korean War, where he was awarded the "Silver Star". He was active in the Lion's Club for 57 years and was president of clubs in Taos and Tucson Chapters. Terry was President of the Highway 64 Association in Taos and was instrumental in the construction of a bridge across the Rio Grand Gorge outside of Taos. He was manager of Kit Carson Electric Coop. in Taos for 13 years. Terry and his wife owned and operated the Taos Inn for 15 years. He was also State Corporation Commissioner of New Mexico under the Simms Administration. He was president of "Save the Narrow Gauge Railroad" in NM. After moving to Tucson in 1984, he became VP of the Stockholders of Tucson Gas & Electric. Terry was an active member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife, LaVonne, whom he was married to for 58 years. He is also survived by his son, Terry Moynihan and wife, Marlene of Albuquerque; daughter, Sandra Cousins and husband, Bill of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Craig Cousins and wife, Christy of Atlanta, GA, Ryan Moynihan and wife, Julie of Georgetown, DC, Kelly Cousins of Chicago, IL, Brad Moynihan of Milwaukee, WI; and two great-grandchildren, Emily and Charlotte Cousins of Atlanta. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Alban's Episcopal Church on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM on Wednesday, October 8, 2003, 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Downtown Lion's Club, PO Box 16161, Tucson, AZ 85732 or to St. Alban's Memorial Fund, 3738 Old Sabino Canyon Road, Tucson, AZ 85750. Terry was loved by all who knew him and always had a "True Story" to tell.
