Margaret Elliott long time resident of New Mexico, passed away on October 3, 2003. She was born on October 19, 1915. She grew up on Staten Island N.Y. and worked at Fort Wadswoth as a private secretary to the commanding officer of the post. She is survived by her husband Norris of 57 years; two sister-in-laws, Rita Shields and Doris Shields and twelve nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by three sisters; Anne M. Dennie, Mary E. Pannone, and Kathryn Robinson; three brothers, Francis A. Shields, John P. Shields, and Joseph Shields; one sister-in-law, Annette Shields. She traveled extensively due to her husband's military career and was fluent in French and German. She was an avid painter and enjoyed painting the scenes she viewed throughout her travels with her husband. Visitation for Margaret will be Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors and Sunday at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors at 5:00 p.m. until the Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held 9:00 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2003, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery.
