Sylvia Ozanich Solis, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, September 26, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte M. Smith and husband, Robert W. Hilke; son, Joseph (Joey) A. Solis III and wife, Bobbie; grandchildren, Kathleen M. Carnell, Wendy Dial, Monte Smith, Joseph "Tony" Solis IV and wife, Michele, and Kyle Solis; great-grandchildren, Brian, Dale & Darren, Krystle, Amber, Matthew, Joseph V, and Joshua; great-great grandchildren, Lauren, Christian, Ashleigh Sylvia; brother, Anthony A. Ozanich and wife, Irene; and many nieces and nephews; family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her love, Joseph A. Solis, her mother and father, Anthony and Sylvia Panion Ozanich; brothers, Frankie and William R. Ozanich; sisters, Francis Ozanich, Roseann Harrison and Agnes Ozanich Chavez; and her uncle, Matthew Ozanich. Sylvia was born on March 18, 1919 in the coal mining camp of Cameron in Colorado. She moved to Albuquerque in 1932 and married Joseph A. Solis, Jr. on August 5, 1936. Services will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 1900 Edith, NE. Pallbearers will be Tony Solis, Kyle Solis, Rick Lowder, Dale Smith, Brian Koch, and Mike Koch. Honorary Pallbearers are Bob Hilke, Monte Smith, Anthony (Tony) Ozanich, Anthony Chavez, Dale Koch, Darren Koch, Charles Campbell, Larry Woolson and Bob Tiffinay. French Mortuary 9300 Golf Course Rd.
