Elaine Frances Walker Smith, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 22, 2003 in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kingslynn, England. She was born in Los Angeles, California on July 10, 1947 to Joe C. and Elizabeth Walker. Elaine and her family moved to Albuquerque when she was a little girl. She graduated from Manzano High School in 1965. Elaine married her beloved husband, Manson Curtis Smith Jr. on June 17, 1967. They had two children - Davedda Jo and Manson Curtis Smith III. Elaine received her Associate Degree in University Studies in 1978 from the University of Albuquerque. Elaine is survived by her parents, Joe C. and Elizabeth Walker; her husband of 36 years, Manson Curtis Smith Jr.; daughter, Davedda Jo Williams and her husband, Andre of Hope Mills, North Carolina; son, Manson Curtis Smith III of Swaffham, England; two granddaughters, Alexandria B. Williams and Adrianne J. Williams; sister, Patricia Ross and her husband, Earseye of Silver City, New Mexico; brother, Joearl Walker of Long Beach, California; brother, Servern Walker of Long Beach, California; brother, Donald Ray Walker of San Bernadino, California; A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and Godchildren. Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2003 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 2, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1901 Pennsylvania NE with Bishop David C. Cooper officiating.
