Obituary for BURDICK

Virginia Burdick, a 19-year resident of Albuquerque, entered her heavenly home on September 16, 2003. She is survived by her children, Richard W. Burdick and wife of Albuquerque, Linda B. Yadsko and husband of Freeland, PA, Ruth E. Burdick and husband of Auburn, WA, and Scott C. Burdick of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn L. Merchant of Riverside, CA; brother, Bernard G. Moulton and wife of Portage, MI; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, R. Wendell Burdick. Born to Archie D. and Celia E. (Hoshaw) Moulton of North Loup, NE on February 6, 1916. Virginia was baptized in the North Loup S.D.B. Church at the age of 9 by the late Rev. Herbert L. Polan, transferring her membership to S.D. B. churches in Battle Creek, MI, DeRuyter, NY, and recently to Seattle, WA. She was also an active member of the Albuquerque, NM Fellowship. Virginia graduated from North Loup High School in 1934. Virginia was married in 1945 to R. Wendell Burdick of DeRuyter, NY. Virginia took a job as an Insurance Auditor for the Insurance Service Organization of New York, where she worked until retirement. In 1984, they moved to Albuquerque where she became a member of the Women's Bible Study Fellowship. Virginia enjoyed reading, needlework, cooking but most of all travel. She and her husband have visited every state in the Union plus two foreign countries. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date in DeRuyter, NY.
