Joan Catherine Pagano, 63, a resident of Rio Rancho and formerly of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2003. Joan came to New Mexico from Brooklyn, New York 31 years ago. She was born February 8, 1940 the daughter of Leonard J. and Catherine M. Scheider Bousum in Brooklyn, New York. She was married to Joseph N. Pagano. Joan was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. Joan is survived by her husband, Joseph; one daughter, Catherine Martinez and husband, Ron; grandchildren, Abigail and Antonio; and one brother, Jimmy Bousum. Before her death, Mrs. Pagano specifically requested that her family and friends who will be attending services, NOT wear black or dark colors. Visitation will be today, Friday, September 12, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with the Rosary being recited at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. Pallbearers will be Joseph Pagano, Ron Martinez, Jim Wilking, and Mark Sadowski. Cremation will follow.
