Obituary for Platter

Paul P. Platter, 88, went home to our Lord, Thursday, July 9, 1998 in Socorro, NM. He was born January 24, 1910 to Edgar and Cora Platter in Raychester, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Schmaltz Platter. He is survived by his son, Fred Lackey and wife, Marcia of Grants, NM; daughters, Charlotte Monette and husband, Chuck of Socorro, NM and Pauline Barker of Grants, NM; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and many good friends which he has had over his lifetime. He will be dearly missed by all whose life he touched. Paul was a resident of Milan since 1956. Paul made his living as a local butcher. He moved to Socorro, NM after the death of his wife. He had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Socorro, NM for the last eight months. Rosary will be recited Friday, July 10, 7:00 p.m., at Grants Mortuary Chapel in Grants, NM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 11, 10:00 a.m., at St. Vivian's Catholic Church in Milan, NM. Interment will be in the Grants Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Fred C. Lackey, Kevin Lackey, Brian Lackey, Danny Monette, David Monette, Darren Monette, Donald Monette and Paul Barker. Honorary pallbearers are his granddaughters, Debbie Monette DeMoss, Denise Monette, Kristen Lackey-Aldaz, Lisa Lackey Roane, Carree Barker Gonzales, Deanna Barker and Barbie Barker. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations be sent to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Socorro, NM. Arrangements by Grants Mortuary, Grants, New Mexico.
