J.L. Mechler Jr., age 86 and a resident of Albuquerque for over 50 years died, Thursday at his home. Mr. Mechler is survived by his wife of 58 years Lou E. Mechler of Albuquerque; one daughter Dorothy Johnson and her husband Ed of TX; one son John Mechler and his wife Carlie of KY; two brothers Edward and Lawrence Mechler both of TX; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Mechler attended Texas A & M prior to his service in the US Army during WWII in the South Pacific. He was a member of Carpenter's Local #1319 for over 50 years, and a life member of VFW, Post 401. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 5, 198 for 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE. Funeral services will e held Monday, July 6, 1998 at 11:30 A.M. in the chapel of Fitzgerald and Son.
