Maria Tripodi D'Angelo, 85, a resident of Albuquerque for 32 years and the matriarch to many families and a blessing on the earth to all who entered her 85 years of life is gone. She will be remembered by her only sister, sister-in-law, cousins, son and daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She came to America in 1926 from Italy at the age of 13 with her mother, Domenica Tripodi and her younger sister, Domenica ("Dottie") and brother, Carmine ("Charlie"). Her youngest, and only surviving sister, Natalie was later born here in America. In 1931 she married Joe D'Angelo. They had three sons, Dominic, who died after 5 days, Vince D'Angelo, an Albuquerque attorney, who preceded her in death in 1992 and Saverio ("Sami").
