Obituary for Velasquez

Anita Marie Velasquez, 51, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 29, 1998. Anita is survived by one daughter, Angela Sena and husband, James; one son, John Trujillo and wife, Natalie; one sister, Gloria McAfee and husband, Frank; one brother, Michael Velasquez and fiance, Maxine Gonzales; five grandchildren, John III, Leticia, Victoria, Andres and Aaron; special friends, Ed Candelaria, Dee Dee Candelaria, Bella Candelaria and Stephanie Varoz; four Godchildren, Dina Blair, Michael Velasquez Jr., Araceli and Leticia Sena; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Velasquez, father, Hernandez Velasquez, nephew, Frank McAfee Jr., and an aunt, Bobbie Anaya. Anita was a member of the Catholic Church, Proprietor of the Baptismal Specialties Shop at the Indoor Mercado. Anita loved the outdoors, traveling and making arts and crafts. A visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 2:30 until 4:00 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW. A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 at the San Jose Mission Church in Duranes with visitation at the Church after 6:30. Fred Urban will recite the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 9:00 at the San Jose Mission Church with Father Leo Lucero, Celebrant. Final viewing will be at the church after 8:30. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Michael Velasquez Jr., Paul Velasquez, John Torres, Fred Urban, Russell McAfee and Chris McAfee. Honorary pallbearers will be, Ed Candelaria and Bobby Candelaria. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW in charge of the arrangements.
