Obituary for Solis

Joseph Solis Jr. Born February 9, 1918 in Elizabeth, NJ, passed away August 16, 1998 after suffering a stroke. Joe was a resident of Albuquerque for his entire 80 years. Most of his years were in the trucking industry, in many different capacities. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved the outdoors. In keeping with his wishes, there was no memorial service. Family Graveside services were held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery on August 19, 1998. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sylvia Ozanich Solis; son, Joey Solis III wife, Bobbie; daughter, Charlotte Smith husband, Robert Hilke; grandchildren, Kathy Carnell husband, Mike, Wendy Dial, Monte Smith, Tony Solis IV wife, Michele, and Kyle Solis; great-grandchildren, Brian Koch wife, Mary, Dale and Darren Koch, Krystle Dial, Amber and Matthew Smith, Joseph Solis V, and Josh Solis; sisters, Rose Esterline of Wichita, KS, Sara Garner of Phoenix, AZ, Julia Weston husband, James of Parker, AZ; many nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. Pallbearers were his grandsons and great-grandsons, Monte Smith, Tony and Kyle Solis, Brian, Dale and Darren Koch. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Hilke, Anthony"Tony" Ozanich and Dale Smith. Joe was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
