Esther L. Lorenzen, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, died Wednesday, August 26, 1998. She was born in Columbus, NE. Mrs. Lorenzen was educated in Columbus, NE, Ashland, KS and attended Park College in Kansas City, KS. Mrs. Lorenzen served in the Coast Guard during WWII. She married in Chicago to Harry Lorenzen and resided in Omaha, NE prior to moving to Albuquerque. Mrs. Lorenzen was a former member of International Toastmistress. She formed a Speakers Bureau to assist local high schools in securing judges for their annual speaking competitions, and speakers for retirement centers, clubs, business firms, etc. Mrs. Lorenzen is the last survivor of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Lorenzen in 1992. Cremation has taken place and memorial graveside services will be held Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE with Rev. Charles E. Price Officiating.
