Obituary for Chavez

Frank G. Chavez, 79, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, August 28, 1998. He was born in the town of Atrisco, NM to Antonio and Catridad Chavez. He attended Atrisco Elementary School and Albuquerque High School; he was a Veteran of World War II where he served in the army, he received two bronze stars and one silver star while serving in the South Pacific. He was a life member of the Disabled Veterans Chapter #3, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and tan heir of the Atrisco Land Grant. He retired after 30 years of service from Sandia Base. He was also a farmer and sheepherder. He married Filomena Chavez on November 2, 1990. He was also a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Filomena Chavez of Albuquerque; three sons, Antonio J. Chavez and wife Lucinda of Chandler, AZ, Eutimio and wife, Alice, Frank and wife, Cecilia of Albuquerque; three daughters, Joann Chavez Lyons and husband, Michael, Jesucita Chavez-Iverson all of Albuquerque, Maria Chavez Cox and husband, Richard of Magney, UT; 22 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel at the Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church.
