Obituary for Wilkins

Thomas McKinley Wilkins, 96, a resident of Albuquerque since 1921, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 12, 1998. His wife, Camilla Jackson Wilkins preceded him in death on December 14, 1986. He is survived by two daughters, Betty L. Gray and husband, Donald E. Gray and Carol W. Whenry. Grandchildren are Thomas E. Gray and wife, Penny Ports, Donald W. Gray and wife, Sue, Jane Gray and husband, Byron Treaster, Claudia Ray and husband, Max, Rynda C. Gibbs and husband, Michael, Deanna K. Rieden and husband, Bob and James L. Whenry and wife, Angela. Also surviving are 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Wilkins worked as a sheet metal worker and retired from Kirtland Air Force Base at the age of 72. He was a Deacon for many years at Fruit Avenue Baptist Church and First Baptist Church. He also was a willing helper for the Care Group at First Baptist Church, donating to those in need. Services will be held Monday, 2:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul NE. Entombment will follow the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Gray, Donald Gray, James Whenry, Zachary Ray, Chad Ray, Matthew Jewett, Justin Whenry, Byron Treaster and Max Ray. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
