Ruth Aileen May, age 88, born August 9, 1910 in Independence, Missouri, to Frederick W. and Alice Harrington, a resident of Albuquerque since 1943, passed away Tuesday, September 8, in a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Paul Arthur May who passed away in 1989; son, Paul Vernon May in 1990; a twin sister, Mildred Hausam; and four other sisters; and three brothers. She is survived by daughter, Brenda Vanderslice and husband, Mickey; son, Randall May and wife, Sylvia; daughter-in-law, Barbara May, all of Albuquerque; brother-in-law, Myron May; sister-in-law, Adah Marie Meng, both of Independence, MO; eight grandchildren, Doug and Travis May, Cassie Case, Jennifer and Roderick May, Rob and Kim Vanderslice, and Sonja Snow; and six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. May was a lifelong member of The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, at the Pennsylvania Street Branch of The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1220 Pennsylvania NE, Jack W. Lycan officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Park Cemetery with Mickey Vanderslice, Rob Vanderslice, Doug May, Travis May, Matthew Bregar and Robert Snow serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pennsylvania Street RLDS Church, 1220 Pennsylvania NE 87110, or the American Lung Association, 216 Truman NE 87108.
