Obituary for Larcom

Virginia (Gini) Schmidt Larcom, 62, a resident of Albuquerque since 1965, died Wednesday, September 9, 1998 after a courageous and soul-searching two and one-half week illness. She was a fiercely indepedent paraplegic whose gentle spirit, sweet personality, and great sense of humor will be sorely missed by all her many friends, relatives, and health care givers. Gini was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Billie Schmidt. She is survived by her son, Keith Russell Larcom; her sister, Mary Lou Santiago; brother-in-law, Bobby Santiago; niece, Annemarie Santiago; nephews, Robert Mark Santiago and Joseph Dominic Santiago and his wife, Julie; and one great-nephew, Jacob Dominic Santiago. Gini was a member of the Albuquerque Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and an esteemed member of MENSA. A graphic designer by profession, she was the owner of a fledgling home business, Alice Street Graphics. Services will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 Univrsity Blvd. NE, Friday 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Gini's bi-monthly women's support group, and members of her fellowship.
