Obituary for Valencia

Ben F. Valencia, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, died Friday, September 4, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Modesta M. Valencia of the family home; daughters, Ursula Leyba and husband, Leo, Dianna Brown, Bernice Campbell and husband William, Barbara Valencia, and Kathleen Valencia, all of Albuquerque, and Dolores Harkins and husband, Robert of Arlington, VA; sons, Leon J. Valencia and wife, Anita and Joel Valencia, all of Los Lunas, NM; granddaughters, Debora M. Quintana and husband, Harold, Michelle Wall and husband, James and Jolene Valencia, all of Albuquerque; grandsons, George K. Brown, Daniel J. Brown and wife, Lisa, and Jody Valencia, all of Albuquerque; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Isauro Valencia and wife, Aurelia of Santa Fe, NM. Mr. Valencia was preceded in death by his grandson,, Christopher Valencia; sister, Rose Lujan; and aunt, Catalina Roybal. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Albuquerque Printing and Graphic Communications Union, Local 234. Services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd., with Pastor Edwin Shepperson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Leon Valencia, Joel Valencia, Leo Leyba, George K. Brown, Daniel J. Brown, Jody Valencia, Robert Harkins, and William J. Campbell. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Wall and Harold Quintana. Friends and family may visit French Mortuary, Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
