Obituary for Hood

Memorial services for Verna Mae Hood will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, Sept. 11, 1998 at The Cathedral Church of St. John, Episcopal. Verna Mae was born March 16, 1921 at Clovis, NM. Except for her early childhood, she was a life long resident of Albuquerque, and a 1939 graduate of Albuquerque High School. Her work life included Maisel's Jewelry, The Kress Co., The Harry Cornelius Co., and Hill Miller/San Juan/ICX Freight Lines. She was lovingly known to friends as Vicki, and to family as Mazie, Auntie, and Granny. Mrs. Hood is survived by her daughter SanDee and son-in-law Jim Robinson of Albuquerque; and two grandchildren, Amber Robinson, presently of Albuquerque, and Capt. Dwight Robinson and wife, Kim of White Sands Missle Range, NM. Also surviving Mrs. Hood are her sister Lois Maddox of Sunnyvale, CA, and nieces Cathy LaFayette and Lynn Tietze, also of California; her brother John E. Love, and aunt Elsie Kent, both of Arlington, TX; her brother Thomas Gwin of Colorado and nieces Cynthia, Jennifer, and Stephanie; and also aunts Tommie and Betty Jean of Texas and Clovis, NM respectively. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Gerald C. Hood; her parents Roger and Dovie Love; her granddaughter Holly Robinson; and nephew Scott Maddox. Arrangements are being scheduled by Sunrise Society, 891-8200.
