Obituary for Hilligoss

Jackson E. Hilligoss, 67, a resident of Albuquerque since 1968, died Monday, May 18, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donnalee Hilligoss; son, Jesse Hilligoss and wife, Cynthia; and grandchildren, Jason Hilligoss and Carolyn Hilligoss, all of Albuquerque. Mr. Hilligoss was born August 3, 1930 in Texas. He attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX and majored in Political Science. Mr. Hilligoss was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was Executive Director of the New Mexico Pharmaceutical Association, and was President of National Council of State Pharmaceutical Association Executives; Manager of the Roswell Chamber of Commerce; Manager of Public Relations, ITT-Kellogg in NM, CA & MO; Gas Measurement Engineering, Zia Co. in Los Alamos; and Asst. Headquarters Commandant, Special Weapons Command at Kirtland AFB. He was a member of Roswell Lodge #18, A.F. & A.M.; Albuquerque Lodge #60, A.F. & A.M.; Scottish Rite and Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple; Past Commander of Ballut Abyad Legion of Honor and currently was Deputy Director of Imperial Endowments, Wills & Gifts Committee Region VI. Services will be held Friday, 11:30 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead SW, with Rev. Clyde Stanfield officiating. Private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are all who knew and loved him. Family will receive friends at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital Transportation Fund, 6600 Zuni SE, 87108; or First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead SW, 87102.
