Obituary for Chavez

Robert Chavez, 59, a resident of Belen, passed away on September 25, 1998. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Robert worked for the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District for 20 years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed all sports and politics. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Felix in 1989 and Ruby in 1997. He is survived by his wife, Rosalyn; one son, John and his wife, Holly of El Paso; two daughters, Judith Chavez of Belen, Cheryl Martinez and her husband, Willie, also of Belen; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Robert, Shannarose, Kassandra, Dominic, Rosemary, Noelle, and John; one sister, Theresa Toledo and her husband, Tony of California; three brothers, Lawrence and wife, Mary of Belen, Joe and his wife, Kitty of Los Lunas, Billy and his wife, Meda of Montana. Pallbearers will be Richard Aragon, Gille Jaramillo, Dick Coffman, Joshua Mazon, Robert Mazon, and Bill Chavez. Honorary pallbearers will be M.R.G.C.D. employees. Viewing will be held on Sunday, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Romero Funeral Home, Rosary will also be held on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Cemetery. Romero Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
