Obituary for James

Neta E. James, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1981, died Wednesday, September 23, 1998. She was born in Syracuse, Kansas on December 4, 1922. Neta met her husband, David in Albuquerque in 1940, and they were married on February 14, 1946. From July 1944 to March 1946, she served in the Women's Army Corps as an airplane and engine mechanic and was stationed in San Antonio, TX, Hobbs, and Long Beach, CA. Neta was a member of University Heights United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Women's Army Corps Veterans Association, the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 35 in Lovington, a weekly oil painting group, and bowling leagues. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, David P. James; daughters, Linda Peterson and husband, Gary of Albuquerque and Joyce Tallant and husband, Kevin of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Donavan Peterson and wife, Samantha of Evans Mills, NY, Nathan Peterson of Albuquerque, Luke Tallant, Ruth Hill and husband, David and Benjamin Tallant, all of Edmond, OK; great-grandchildren, Alexander and Katalina Peterson; brothers, Leo Williams of Montrose, CO, Doc Williams of Chino, CA, and Leonard Williams and wife, Harriet of Englewood, CO; sisters, Agnes Brown of Grand Junction, CO and Fern Nix of North Bend, OR; sisters-in-law, Dema Williams of Lamar, CO and Pauline Durrington of Chino, CA; many other relatives and friends. Services will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at University Heights United Methodist Church, 2210 Silver SE, with Pastor Jon Foster officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Ray Kuhn, Don Naylor, Donavan Peterson, Nathan Peterson, Luke Tallant, Benjamin Tallant, and Ruth Hill.
