Lawrence Velasquez, 64, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died September 21, 1998. He is survived by his son, Rick Velasquez of Rio Rancho; daughters, Kay Velasquez and Myra Soule, both of Albuquerque; son, Orlando Velasquez and wife, Vanessa of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Devynn Velasquez and Jason Velasquez, both of Rio Rancho, and Ian Velasquez of Albuquerque; girlfriend, Paula Dureault of Albuquerque; brother, Arturo Velasquez, David Velasquez, both of New Mexico and Ceyatano Velasquez of Colorado; sister, Vitalia Salas, of Tito, NM. Mr. Velasquez served with the US Post Office here in Albuquerque for over 30 years. His favorite activity was country westing dancing. A reception will be held Wednesday 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd, NE.
