Obituary for Murawski

Sister Mary Dematria Murawski, 92, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 1998 in the Felician Sisters Convent. Sister Demetria served the Lord and His people as a woman religious for 74 years. Of these, she spent 60 years teaching elementary school students. For 12 of those years she was both principal and teacher. Sister Demetria is fondly remembered by those she worked with as dedicated, generous with her time, and as possessing a great sense of humor. Sister Demetria was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Josephine Budner Murawski, a brother who died as a small child, and her sister, Sister Mary Alexia Murawski, also a Felician Sister. A Vesper Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. and a Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. today, Tuesday, September 22, 1998 in the Felician Sisters Chapel in Rio Rancho. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Chapel on Wednesday, September 23, 1998 at 9:00 a.m. with The Rev. Paul Schneider, OFM, as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho
