Obituary for Creamer

John H. Creamer, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1974, died Sunday, April 5, 1998. He is survived by his daughters, Carole Ann Coombes of Menomonee Falls, WI and Jacquelynn Gammons of Middleburg, VA; sons, John Hunter Creamer of St. Louis, MO and Michael Patrick Creamer of Redmond, WA; grandchildren, Amy Gundrum, Michael Halaska, Christopher Gammons, Christopher Halaska, Mark Gammons, Margaret Halaska, Emily Gammons, MeLisa Creamer, Michaela Creamer, and Nolan Saffery; great-grandchildren, Rachel Halaska, Harrison Halaska, Matthew Gundrum, Anne Gundrum, Margaret Gundrum, and Emma Gammons; and brothers, Carlos M. Creamer of Albuquerque. Mr. Creamer spent his early years in New Mexico where he attended public schools, after which he attended St. Michael's College in Santa Fe, University of New Mexico and Harvard Advanced Management School. He held various positions in New Mexico, California, and Mexico City from 1937 to 1944. In 1944, Mr. Creamer joined Creole Petroleum Corporations Industrial Relations Staff and he was assigned to their operations in Eastern Venezuela. This was followed by assignments in various field districts in the Lake Maracaibo region. He moved to the headquarters office at Caracas in 1951, serving as Director of Training Development Coordinator and Labor Relations Advisor. In 1960, he was promoted to Assistant Manager of the Department and the following year, he was promoted to Manager of the Department. In addition to his duties in Creole, Mr. Creamer had been active in Venezuela generally, and he served six years as Chairman of the Human Relations Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Caracas. He was a member of the oldest Rotary Club in the city"Club Rotario de Caracas", and he was also a past member of the Association of Venezuelan Executives, as well as a founding member of ANRI-National Association of Industrial Relations. In 1967, Mr. Creamer was awarded by the President of the Republic the Order Francisco de Miranda. Since his retirement, he had been actively involved in the Creole Annunitant's Association."Jack Creamer will be greatly missed by family, friends and colleagues, both in the United States and Venezuela." Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Amy Gundrum reciting. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 9:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE, with Fr. James Moore, Celebrant. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 12:00 noon, at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Per Mr. Creamer's wishes, cremation will follow services. Pallbearers will be John Creamer, Mike Creamer, Jack Coombes, and Herb Gammons. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Halaska, Christopher Halaska, Christopher Gammons, Mark Gammons, and Nolan Saffery. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of their choice. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Wednesday, 5:30 p.m. until Rosary.
