Obituary for Baldasarre

Maria Baldasarre, 85, a resident of Albuquerque for 43 years, went to be with the angels at 1:05 p.m., on Monday, April 6, with her three children at her bedside. She fought a courageous nine month battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, on December 25, 1985. Born on March 13, 1913 in Puerto Rico, she received her B.A. in business education and taught high school business courses. She was a member of Holy Ghost Church and for the past 12 years, Grace Baptist Chapel, where she found her second family. She is survived by a son, Michael Baldasarre; daughter, Celia Baldasarre; and daughter, Rose Montgomery, Rose's husband, George; and grandchildren, Brian, Colin and Meghan. She is also survived by brother, Gilberto Lausell and wife, Mercedes; brother, Emilio Lausell and wife, Iris; brother, Eladio Lausell; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Grace Baptist Church on Thursday, April 9 at 9:00 a.m. with Reverend Vernon Lierly and Associate Pastor Curtis Brown officiating. Memorial services will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Presbyterian Hospice and Grace Baptist Church for their tremendous support during this difficult time.
