Obituary for Drake

Walter Russell Drake, 73, a resident of Edgewood, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 1998. Mr. Drake was born in Spring City, TN on November 14, 1924. He was honorably discharged from the US Army after serving with the 7th Infantry in the Italian Campaign during WWII. Mr. Drake retired from Sandia National Laboratory in 1988 after 41 years service. He is survived by his wife, Opal Drake of the family home; son, Tony Drake and wife, Lorraine of Farmington; daughter, Amanda Drake of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Kenny Drake and wife, Missy of Farmington, Shawna Drake, Christopher Cordeiro and Hollie Cordeiro, all of Albuquerque; great-granddaughters, Ashlee and Desi Drake, both of Farmington, NM; and a brother, A.L. Drake of Dayton, TN. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
