Rebecca O. Vasquez, 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1943, died Friday, March 27, 1998. She is survived by her son, Bert Vasquez of Albuquerque; daughters, Susan Gaxiola and husband, Rene, Martha Rasmusson and husband, Joseph, and Rachel Martinez and husband, Jerome, all of Albuquerque; step-daughter, Mary Baldomar and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Gabriel Gaxiola and wife, Valerie, Rebecca Rasmusson, Jerome Jr., Arianna, and Jacob"J.J." Martinez, and Christopher, Alexander, and Anastasia Baldomar; brother, Rudy Ortiz and wife, Margaret of San Antonio, TX; sister, Consuelo Ortiz; and great-grandchild, Emiliano Estevan Gaxiola. She was preceded in death by her sons, Rudy Vasquez and Richard Vasquez; and daughter, Joyce Vasquez. Services will be held Monday, 7:00 p.m., at South Valley Apostolic Church, 1242 Atrisco SW, with Pastor Rene Gaxiola officiating. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE, with Pastor Rene Gaxiola officiating. Pallbearers will be Jose Rasmusson, Gabriel Gaxiola, Miguel Gaxiola, Jerome Martinez, Efrain Gaxiola, and Tomas Abeyta. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Sunday, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas NE 87110.
