Diosinita"Josie" Chavez, 67, passed away Saturday, March 28, 1998 at her home in Socorro, NM. She was born November 24, 1930 to Emilio and Maria (Chavez) Jojola in Val Verde, NM. She is survived by her husband, Bernardo Chavez of the home; sons, Elvries"Billy" Chavez and wife, Betty, Bernardo"Bernie" Chavez Jr., Eduardo"Eddie" Chavez and wife, Carrie, Raymond Chavez and wife, Isabel, and Victor Chavez, all of Socorro, NM; daughters, Mary"Tina" Pargas and husband, Ernest of Socorro, NM, Bernice Vallejos and husband, Eric of Minot, ND, and Denise Herrera and husband, Flavio of Socorro, NM; brothers, Robert Jojola and wife, Linda of Bullhead City, AZ and Emilio Jojola Jr. and wife, Sylvia of Buena Park, CA; sisters, Vivian Bourguignon and friend, Archie Sanchez of Albuquerque, Emma Padilla and husband, Toby of San Antonio, NM and Selfa Lucero and husband, Bill of Albuquerque, and Rosemary Lopez and husband, Jim of Whittier, CA; a special aunt, Rosella Lukesh of Albuquerque; two uncles; two aunts; 23 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Monday March 30, at Steadman-Hall Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Rosary will be recited Monday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 31, at 10:00 a.m., at San Miguel with Father Domingo Gumpal as Celebrant. Interment will be in the San Antonio, NM Cemetery. Pallbearers are Phillip D. Chavez, Ernest Pargas Jr., Raymond Chavez Jr., Ryan P. Chavez, Frankie A Montoya III and Phillip Bourguignon. Arrangements by Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, Socorro, NM
