Obituary for Weskamp

Frank R. Weskamp was born in Rocky Ford, CO on January 7, 1921. He graduated from high school in Buckeye, AZ. During WWII he served in the US Coast Guard which enabled him to attend the University of Montana School of Forestry on the GI Bill. He did his graduate work at Montana Sate University in Bozeman, Montana. After working for the US Forest Service he later went into forest industries which allowed him to work for companies in New Mexico, Arizona, Washington, California and Hawaii. Frank was a life member in the Rio Rancho VFWPost 5890 where he served as Commander for three years. he was a member of the American Legion Post #118, was active in the Boy Scouts of America both in Magelena, NM and Hilo, Hawaii, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Soccoro, NM, active NRA member and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas Aquinas in Rio Rancho. Frank was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy and son, Peter. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary A. Weskamp of Rio Rancho; his daughter, Peggy her husband, Don Newport and granddaughter, Meg Boan of Reno, NV; his son, Paul Weskamp wife, Linda and grandchildren, Frank, Tony and Christia of Tyler,TX. Also surviving are his sister, Edith Olson and her husband, Jerry of San Diego, CA; his brother, Herman Weskamp and his wife, Katherine of West Covina, CA; his sister, Louis Rzany of Tacoma, WA; and his sister-in-law, Doreen Darlington of Ronan, MT. Rosary will be recited on Monday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rio Rancho Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 31 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donation to the Sandia Hospice, 5740 Osuna Rd.
