Bennie Sanchez, 68, a lifetime resident of New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 1998. Bennie was born August 17, 1929, the son of Benjamin and Josephine Candelaria Sanchez in Corrales, NM. Bennie had worked in construction until he retired. He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin; and his son, Bennie Jr. Bennie is survived by his former wife, Frances; his mother, Josie Sanchez of Corrales; children, Frances Maldonado and husband, Mike of Albuquerque, Evelyn Lovato and husband, Pat of Albuquerque, Robert Sanchez and wife, Evone of Los Lunas, Ted Sanchez and wife, Patty of Corrales, Benny Sanchez and wife, Debbie of Corrales; 16 grandchildren, Neil, Monica, Matthew, Angela, Teddy Jr., Adam Gallegos, Kayla, Robert Jr., Joey, Roberta, Elvis Dimas, Patrick Gallegos, Branden DeSersa, Jessica Padilla, Antoinette, Luis; three great-grandchildren, Daniel, Vanessa, and Nicole; one brother, Ray Sanchez; three sisters, Doily Garbagni, Alice Lovato, and Juanita Garcia. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 1998, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd., at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with the rosary being recited at 8:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. The mass of resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at the San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales with Fr. Clarence Galli as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the San Ysidro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Neil, Matthew, Adam, Elvis, Phil, Teddy Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Anthony and Desi. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho.
