Obituary for Olmstead

William"Bill" Allen Olmstead, 68, a resident of Albuquerque since 1984, died Thursday, March 5, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia of the family home; daughters, Debbie Olmstead and Cindy Andujo and husband, Alex, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Frank Olmstead of Albuquerque, and Edwin Olmstead and wife, Cecilia, all of Albuquerque; and sister, Eva DeLeon and husband, Russell of Pueblo, CO; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the US Army. Mr. and Mrs. Olmstead were married March 14, 1959 in Las Vegas, NM. Mr. Olmstead was a member of the Church of the Risen Savior, where he was very active in the Spanish Choir. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the German Club, and the American Legion. Mr. Olmstead worked in Santa Fe with the State Auditor and the State Land Commission for 25 years, retiring in 1984. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 6:00 p.m., at the Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Fr. Paul Baca reciting. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 11:30 a.m., at the Church of the Risen Savior, with Fr. Paul Baca, Celebrant. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m. in Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be Arthur Silva, Al Silva, Alex Andujo, Tom Olmstead, Solomon Madrid, Al Lujan, Benito Sena and Jimmy Ramirez. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Olmstead, John Foeder, Lionel Holguin, Russell DeLeon, Francis Rincon and Kenneth Adams. Friends may visit at the Church of the Risen Savior, Sunday, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
