Obituary for Coleman

Buford Allen Coleman (Duke), 72, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed on to a better place on Sunday, February 22, 1998 after fighting a long and courageous battle with many illnesses during the past few years. Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife, Mary E. Coleman of Albuquerque; son, George R. Coleman of Albuquerque; daughters, Dorothy E. Beckner and husband, Bill of Albuquerque and Sharon E. McComas and husband, Greg of Tacoma, WA; grandchildren, Ellya Beckner of Albuquerque, and Ryan McComas and Eric McComas of Tacoma, WA; sisters, Catherine Lawler and husband, Jim of St. Joseph's, MO, Florence Todd and husband, Fay of Peculiar, MO; and brothers, Larry Coleman and wife, Julie of Peculiar, MO and June Coleman and wife, Jackie of Raymore, MO. Duke was born on October 19, 1925 in Peculiar, MO. He married Mary Elizabeth Lane on October 19, 1948 and they were blessed with three children and three grandchildren. Duke was a veteran of WWII, having served his country honorably in the US Army. He worked at Sandia National Laboratories from 1955 until his retirement in 1982. Duke was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and he will be dearly missed. Cremation has taken place and memorial graveside services were held Friday at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
