Obituary for Savage

Hulon Milford Savage, 87, of Albuquerque, died gracefully Thursday, December 15, 1999, at the home of his son, also of Albuquerque. Mr. Savage had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1983. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Vonna of Albuquerque; three children, Betty and her husband, Derek of Illinois, Rox and her husband, Rick of Kansas and Tom and his wife, Pam of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren, Deborah, Kay, Aily, Sheldon, Sarah, Courtney and David; three great-grandchildren, Shanna, Chad and Andrea; four siblings, Beulah Sorrell and husband, Joe of California, Vivian (Wid) Burden of Colorado, Raymond Savage of Oklahoma, Marilyn and husband, Lonnie Bill of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. Prior to moving to Albuquerque, Mr. Savage and his wife lived in Ft. Collins, Colorado for 45 years, where Mr. Savage was active as a member of the First Baptist Church and the Elks Club. He retired in 1978 as the Vice President of Operations for the Pat Griffin Company based in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Mr. Savage was a veteran of WWII and received the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, APT Ribbon and Victory Ribbon. He especially enjoyed fishing, traveling, square dancing and bridge. Services will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Grace Baptist Church, 12201 Comanche NE, with Pastor Curtis Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
