Obituary for Davis

Ray H. Davis, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, died Friday, December 17, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Marian Jo Davis of the family home; one son, Larry J. Davis and wife, Carrie of El Paso, TX; two daughters, Lillian A. Moon and husband, Danny of Albuquerque and Cindy R. Chasteen and husband, Chris of Roseville, CA; six grandchildren, Karey Howell and husband, Greg, Kristy Peck and husband, Wade, John Davis, Matthew Davis, Cammi Chasteen and Scott Chasteen; three great-grandchildren, Isiah Howell, Noah Howell and Gabriellah Howell; and one sister, Marie Thomas. Mr. Davis had been an Elementary School teacher for 38 years and retired from Albuquerque Public Schools in 1990. He was a longtime active member of Hoffmantown Church, serving as a Deacon and Director of a Senior Adult Sunday School Department. Mr. Davis had also served as a weekly volunteer at Noonday Ministry for the last eight years. Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper NE, with Pastor Ken Moore officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Willis Whitfield, Royce Anderson, Bill Hereford, Russ Davis, Ralph Workman.
