Obituary for Hernandez

Roberto Hernandez, 70, passed away December 16, 1999. He was a longtime resident of Albuquerque, a 21 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in Germany, France and Vietnam. He was awarded Airman's Metal for Heroism, Vietnamese Gallantry Cross with Palm, PU Citation with V device for Bravery, Campaign Ribbons, and 3 Air Force Commendation Metals. He retired from Civil Service after 18 years. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, bowler, and loved music. He was preceded in death by parents, Antonio and Manuelita Hernandez; brothers, Juan and David Hernandez, all of Del Rio, Texas. He is survived by wife, Ida Montoya Hernandez; sons, Robert P. Hernandez, Michael E. Hernandez and wife, Stephanie; granddaughter, Raquel Marina Hernandez; brothers, Cruz and Nestor Hernandez; other family and friends who loved and will miss him. Memorial services will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 1999, Mass of Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday with Father Joe Vigil Celebrant.
