Obituary for Wells

Maude L. Wells was born in Coatopa, Alabama on October 27, 1900. Two brothers, Jobe and Percy; a sister, Haley Delle; two daughters, Marzine and Billiejean preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, M. Delle Hawkins of Rio Rancho; sons, David M. Davies and wife, Beatrice of Albuquerque, Jeroyd F. Evans and wife, Lucy of Loveland, OH. Surviving grandchildren are Michael D. Davies, Timothy F. Evans, Andrea C. Watson, Norwood (Buzzy) Thomas, Leslie Newton and James Anthony (Tony) Morrow III; great-granddaughter, Deborah Gibson; and great-great-granddaughter, Kayla Gibson. A host of nephews and nieces are left to share in the mourning of her passing. Mrs. Wells spent most of her life in De Moines, Iowa. She was a life member of Ozeil Chapter #8, Order of the Eastern Star, P.H.A., and a charter member of Corinthian Baptist Church, where she held offices in various Auxiliaries. She died of natural causes at approximately 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 1999. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, December 22, 1999, 10:00 a.m., at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE.
