Obituary for Baca

Amalia Molly Baca, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother and sister, was called home to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 23, 1999, while surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Baca was born in Jarales, NM; she lived in Barstow, CA four years, then making her home in Albuquerque since 1957; she was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church; formerly a parishioner of Our Lady of Belen, where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters; she always faithfully devoted time to pray the Rosary. Mrs. Baca was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Baca; one son, Gilbert Baca; one brother; and three sisters. She is survived by her loving children, Norbert Baca and wife, Lupe, Martha Montoya and husband, Eliseo, J.D. Baca and wife, Diane, Al Baca and wife, Patty, all of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Rita Baca; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Flora Pena, Sophie Turrieta and Bernie Sanchez; one brother, Felix Sanchez; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and all those who knew and loved her. The Baca family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mi Casa Su Casa for the wonderful care given to Amalia Baca. Visitations will be today, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, located on the corner of 8th and Stover, where a Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Fr. Jack Robinson Clark as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be David Montoya, Marc Baca, Paul Baca, Dominic Baca, Gilbert Sanchez, Phillip (P.J.) Baca and Jonathan Baca. Funeral services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW, 243-5222.
