Obituary for Espalin

OUR LORD WELCOMED ARTURO HOME ON JESUS' BIRTHDAY. Arturo Espalin, 77, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, December 25, 1999. he is survived by his brothers, Joe Espalin and Robert Espalin and wife, Dolores; sisters, Helen Stevens, his guardian of Albuquerque, and Lila Quintana and husband, Alonso of Cerro; aunt, Gabriella Martinez, of Albuquerque; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Mr. Espalin was honorably discharged after serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion Post #72. Mr. Espalin was a devoted member of Oasis Family Church. The Lord blessed Arturo with the talent of playing the guitar for us on earth, now he is playing it in heaven. Services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Terry Mathews officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Richard Baca, John Duran, Phillip Duran, Jr., John Espalin, Adolph Herrera and Joe Hidalgo. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Duran, Robert Duran, Rick Espalin, Angelo Herrera, David Hughes, Jared Huling, Gilbert Trujillo, and Michael Quintana. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
