Obituary for Duran

Luis Duran, 66, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, was called home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 28, 1999. Mr. Duran was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque; son of the late Antonio and Agatha Duran; he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church; he loved family gatherings; and will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Duran on August 6, 1999; and a brother, Tony Duran. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Natalie Duran of the family home; seven sons, Joe Duran and wife, Liz, Daniel Duran, both of Albuquerque, Michael Duran of Edgewood, Manuel Duran, Henry Duran, Tony Duran and wife, Judy, and Louis Duran, all of Albuquerque; four daughters, Loretta Garcia and husband, Gregorio of Hernandez, NM, Elsie Muller and husband, Frankie, Diana Pacheco and husband, Arturo and Angela Duran, all of Albuquerque; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Henry Duran and wife, Rose of Albuquerque; one sister, Mary Marquez and husband, Silviano of Moriarty; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and all those who knew him. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this morning, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Joe Duran, Daniel Duran, Michael Duran, Manuel Duran, Henry Duran and Tony Duran. Honorary bearer will be Louis Duran.
