Lodema Shepherd, 95, a longtime resident of Carlsbad, died Sunday, November 7, 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Evalynne Hunemuller and husband, Richard of Albuquerque; grandson, Leslie Brett and wife, Deborah Babb of San Juan, Puerto Rico; granddaughter, Lisa Crawford and husband, James of New York NY; and great-granddaughter, Leslie Simona Babb of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Lodema was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Warren Shepherd. They lived in Carlsbad, NM from 1945-1997. She taught elementary school for many years at Sunset Mesa Elementary in Carlsbad. Lodema belonged to the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Graveside services will be held Friday, 1:00 p.m., at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Carlsbad. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Thursday, 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
