Obituary for Otero

Antonio S. (Tony) Otero, 67, a resident of Belen, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 1999. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, NM. He retired from US West in 1984 after 35 years of outstanding service. Antonio was preceded in death by his daughter, Dorothy in 1953; one son, Anthony in 1996; two granddaughters, Rosana and Tiffany Bransford in 1997; two brothers, Manuel in 1997 and Clovis in 1999; and one sister, Adela Martinez. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Manuela of the family home in Belen; five children, Ted and his wife, Ramona of Los Lunas, Dolly Raley and her husband, Steve of Tierra Grande, Judy Bransford and her husband, Kerry of Belen, Debbie Nail of Meadow Lake, Darleen Roche and her husband, Ed of Tierra Grande; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Lorenzo and his wife, Lillian of Albuquerque; two sisters, Socorro Vallejos and her husband, Bernie of Albuquerque and Marie (Tochita) Chiwiwi and her husband, Joe of Isleta; his sister-in-law, Viola Otero of Los Lunas. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, 6:00 p.m., at Romero Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta. Interment will take place in the Valencia Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Roche Ted Jr., Adam, and Tony Otero, Steve Raley, Kerry Bransford, Mia Nail and Dawn Marie Antonio. Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters.
