Obituary for Bernal

Aurelio G. (Billy) Bernal, 80, beloved brother and uncle, was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 10, 1999. Mr. Bernal was born in 1918 in Ingle, NM to the late Aurelio and Crescencia Bernal; he was a parishioner of San Ignacio Catholic Church; he was a lifelong resident of Martinez Town; a member of the Knights of Columbus; he retired from the Albuquerque Sunport Regency, prior to his retirement he worked for the Hilton Hotel, Cole Hotel and Fred Harvey's. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Celestino Trujillo; and sister-in-law, Arcenia Bernal. Mr. Bernal is survived by one brother, Jesse Bernal and wife, Josie of Albuquerque; five sisters, Emelia B. Trujillo also of Albuquerque, Mary Sanchez and husband, Valentine, Lollie Salinas and husband, Julian, Gloria Noreiga, all of San Diego, CA and Audrey Guerra and husband, Henry of Brea, CA; special nieces, Mary Lou Baca, Cris Candelaria; special nurse, Reina Baca and Tina Bustos. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews from Albuquerque and California, a nephew, Joseph Trujillo from Washington; and many cousins. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Final viewing will be this morning, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this morning, 9:00 a.m., at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 1300 Walter NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Casket bearers will be Raymond Gonzales, Jesse Baca, Pete Candelaria, Fidel Bernal, Robert Bernal and Frank Gutierrez. Honorary bearer will be Tom Candelaria.
