Obituary for King

Ralph M. King, 88, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, November 23, 1999. Private family services will be at the King family ranch in New Mexico. Cremation arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. King was born in Craig County, OK. He attended high school in Boise City, OK. His parents moved to Boise City in 1926. Mr. King worked for the Ford Motor Co. for 20 years before he and his wife owned and operated Mesa Tractor Co. in Albuquerque for 16 years. After retirement he made 128 violins and won many awards. He was a member of the National Old Timer Fiddlers Association. He married Lila Adee in 1936 at Boise City. They moved to Albuquerque in 1942 and he and his wife moved to Amarillo in 1997. She preceded him in death on June 8, 1999. He is survived by his daughter, Esther Barnett; two grandchildren; and five great-granddaughters. The family suggests memorials to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 2490, Amarillo, TX 79105 or a favorite charity.
