Obituary for Trujillo

Felipe N. Trujillo, 93, of Talpa, NM, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on November 16, 1999."Daddy Jillo" resided in his family home in Talpa until his death. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Fortunata; sons, Felipe Floyd,"Baby James"; and grandson, Luis Giron. He is survived by daughters, Luzita, Sally, Rebecca; sons, Roger, Michael (Lupita), Arthur (Joann), and Gerry (Kathy); grandchildren, Phillip and Linda Trujillo, Val Giron, Matthew and Bryan Gusdorf, Cassandra Zamora, Jordan and Shelby Trujillo; great-grandchildren, Santiago Giron, Audrey and Phillip Trujillo, Antonio Zuniga de Trujillo, Alexander Gusdorf, and Baby Gusdorf (due April 1, 2000). He is also survived by brothers, Facundo (Clorinda), Amarante (Augustina), Alfredo, Felix and Max; brothers-in-law, John Duran (Stella) and Ricardo Gonzales; sisters-in-law, Faby Romero (Eli) and Corina V. Duran; and many nephews and nieces. He was a well known educator in Taos County, and was a veteran of World War II. He was an active member of the San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church in Ranchos de Taos, and an"Hermano" de la Confradia from the Morada de San Francisco De Asis, also known as the Morada de Talpa."El Sagrado Rosario" was recited by the"Hermanos" on Thursday evening at the San Francisco de Asis Catholic church in Ranchos. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated by Father Tim Martinez and Deacon Pat Delozier on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. with internment at the Talpa Cemetery. Graveside service included"La Despedida" by the Hermanos de la Morada de Talpa, and full Military Honors by the NM National Guard and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #3259. Pallbearers were his sons and grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers were Nelson Trujillo, Daniel Trujillo, and"adopted granddaughter", Melanie Duran. Eulogy was delivered by Guadalupe Tafoya, special friend of the family.
