Obituary for Cottle

Warren Terry Cottle, a resident of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico for the past 10 1/2 years, passed away unexpectedly from a massive heart attack early Saturday morning, November 20, 1999 at Sierra Hospital. He was 60 years old. Mr. Cottle was the proud son of the late Lorenzo Warren Cottle and Rhea Vaughter Cottle. He was born on July 28, 1939 in Clovis, New Mexico. He served his country honorably as a MP Drill Sergeant in the United States Army and later in the Army National Guard. He married his lifelong companion, Barbara Ann Rumbaugh on June 24, 1960 in Clovis. Terry retired from the Albuquerque Police Department after 20 years of service. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Along with fishing, Terry was an avid outdoor sportsman and lover of animals. He was a member of the Albuquerque Bass Bums, Elephant Butte Bass Angles, and T or C Trap Club. Mr. Cottle is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Barbara Ann Rumbaugh Cottle of the family home in Truth or Consequences; one son, Brian Todd Cottle of Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Lisa Carol Pirtle and husband, Kenneth Joseph of Albuquerque; two brothers, William Andrew Cottle and wife, Rebecca of Newark, DE and David Owen Cottle and wife, Pat Cottle of San Angelo, TX; four grandchildren, Tammra Renee, age 14 years, Hanna Elizabeth, age 5 1/12 years, Dakota Glenn, age 4 1/2 years, and Emily Erin, age 3 years; a step-mother, Rowena Pursley Cottle of Clovis. A Memorial service to commemorate his life will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 1999, at Sierra Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Cottle's nephew, Reverend William Andrew Cottle, will officiate.
