Obituary for Mastromonico

Joseph James Mastromonico Sr., 96, passed away in Albuquerque on November 17, 1999. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elena Tuccillo Mastromonico. Joseph was born in New York, NY in 1903, was a resident of Fort Walton Beach, FL since 1979, a former resident of Aiken, SC, and a recent resident of Albuquerque. He was the loving father of Arnold, Joseph and Charles; grandfather to Michelle, Philip, Tim, Kara, Marc, Laurel, Jeff, and Elizabeth; and great-grandfather to Tyler, Lindsey, Morgan, Hannah, Aimie, and Katie. He is endeared by his daughters-in-law, Thea, Darlene, and Jane, and his enduring family, Judy, and his family friends of the Italian American Culture Society, Bill, Rae, Joe, Leo, Ray, and Nellie. Joseph was an acclaimed artist to his family and was active in the Arts and Design Society of Fort Walton Beach, past president of AARP, the originator of the Blue Light emergency response system for the elderly, active in the Bookmobile, a senior member of the Sons of Italy, and an enduring friend to most everyone who had the joy of meeting him. Mass is scheduled fro 9:30 a.m., Saturday, November 20, 1999, at Church of the Risen Savior, with Rev. Paul Baca as Celebrant. Pallbearers will be Philip Mastromonico, Arnold Mastromonico, Jay Campbell, Tyler Campbell, Joe Mastromonico, and Charles Mastromonico.
