Obituary for Buchalter

Dorothy F."Dottie" Buchalter, 68, a nine year resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away suddenly following vacation to Hawaii on Saturday, November 13, 1999, from complications after heart surgery in La Jolla, California. She was born in Morris County, TX, near Daingerfield, TX on September 26, 1931 to Elsie Mae and Benford L. Pomeroy of East Texas, and was the 1st of eight children. She married Alfred"Buck" Buchalter, her husband of nearly 48 years on April 12, 1952 in Fresno, CA. She accompanied him during his 20 year career in the U.S. Air Force to assignments all over the United States and Germany. The couple resided in Lubbock, TX for approximately 17 years, eventually retiring in Albuquerque, NM. She was a licensed cosmetologist vocational instructor in Lubbock, TX for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, homemaking, and travel. She is survived by her husband Alfred"Buck" Buchalter of Albuquerque; son, Michael Buchalter and his wife, Elizabeth of Lake Dallas, TX; grandsons, Quentin Buchalter of Lake Dallas, TX and Clifford Buchalter of Highpoint, NC; sisters, Martha Joe Maples of Jefferson, TX, Vela Mae Pace of Dike, TX; Betty Sue Kipfer of Tyler, TX; brothers, J.P. Voight of Marshall, TX, James Wade Pomeroy of Marshall, TX, Charles Pomeroy of Farmers Branch, TX and Benny Pomeroy of Texas; along with many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. She will be greatly missed by her family, many friends, and neighbors. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 1999, 2:00 p.m. at the Jenkins Methodist Church, located near Texas Hwys 259 and 997. Donations in memory of Dorothy"Dottie" F.
