Esther C. Griego, 84, was called to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 13, 1999. She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Joe L. Griego; and loving daughter, Josette Griego-Steed and husband, Terry, all of Albuquerque. Mrs. Griego was a resident of Albuquerque for 24 years, formerly of Las Vegas, NM. She will always be admired for her strength and courage. She was deeply loved by all for her wit and sense of humor, and will always be a love filled memory in our hearts. Mrs. Griego is also survived by her sisters, Lillian Sawtelle, Angie Micek and husband, Lou, all of Albuquerque, Irene Padilla and husband, Roque of Glendale, CO, Beatrice Tuturo of Los Angeles, CA, and Cecilia Casaus and husband, Mike of Albuquerque; two God-children; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine Castillo and Judy Castillo; and brother, Eloy Castillo. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Ann Sanchez reciting. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Lomas and Morningside NE, with Father Francis X. Eggert, Celebrant. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ted McKinney, Phillip McKinney, Robert Casaus, Lee Montoya, Fred Baca and Robert Garcia. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. to time of Rosary.
