Obituary for Barnes

W.E."Pete" Barnes, 77, a resident of Albuquerque for the past five years, died November 2, 1999 and was laid to rest in Dallas, TX on November 6. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 1/2 years, Mary Barnes; daughter, Brenda Coleman and husband, Dale Coleman; two grandchildren, Vanessa and Phillip Coleman; sister, Dorothy Leeman of Dallas; brothers, N.W. Barnes and J.K. Barnes of Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pete was preceded in death by his son, Larry Don. Pete was a veteran of WWII, worked for the Dallas Police Department for 25 years and worked for the Plano School District for 11 years. He was a member of Hella Temple, Keystone Masonic Lodge, and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 13 at the First Baptist Church of Alameda.
